"Barbie - The Singles"
After a series of album releases and gigs, an album which serves as a special edition featuring all the hit songs of the bands
Barbie became part of was released. BARBIE THE SINGLES was a phenomenal craft. It served as the end of one season in a young woman’s journey through her life and music, but marked a new beginning in her passion for the latter and her career, as she decided to go
solo. In this connection, Barbie the Singles is a special album indeed as it featured several songs from the Hungry Young Poets
self-titled album up to the last album she made with Barbie’s Cradle, Playing in the Fields.
Barbie the Singles did not just showcase songs written by a musical genius and performed by talented musicians, but it showed a
story of the changes and progression in a young woman’s journey through life as a person, a musician and an artist. Among the songs in the said album are Torpe and Firewoman (hits from the Hungry Young Poets self- titled Album); The Dance, Goodnight and Tabing Ilog (songs from the first and sophomore album of Barbie’s Cradle); Shiny Red Balloon, Belinda Bye Bye, Money for Food (depicted from the
sophomore album of Barbie’s Cradle, Music from the Buffet Table); All I need (is God), Independence Day, 121/ Idlip, Playing in the Fields (from the third album, Playing in the Fields) and other hit singles are included in Barbie the Singles. Also, a newest song
she made entitled Just A Smile (used in one of the Close- up Commercials), is also part of the album mentioned.
